Sox Win Again, Rays Lose Again

Jake Peavy made another quality start to lead the Sox to a 7-2 victory over his former teammates, the Chicago White Sox. In the meantime, the non-offensive Tampa Bay Rays lost again to the A's 2-1. As of today, September 1st, the Red Sox lead in the AL East stands at 4 1/2 games. Jacoby Ellsbury led the Sox offense with 3 hits, the X man contributed 2 which included an RBI & Shane Victorino added a few more hits to close out a great August campaign. Other than the stinkin' cheatin' New York Yankees, who overtook the O's yesterday for 3rd place with a win, no one is hotter than the Red Sox right now. Boston & New York close out August with 16 wins. With 7 left against the Yankees & 6 more against the O's the Red Sox can use every win against other teams before facing the AL East again. A sweep of the White Sox before the Detroit series would be a good thing.
