Sox Lose Finale 4-3
The Red Sox came into Tampa with a 7 1/2 game lead & they leave with an 8 1/2 game lead - all while knocking off 3 more games on the schedule. That's the big picture. Unfortunately, Sox lose 4-3 as it was the Rays turn to come back last night. Wil Myer hit a chalk line double in the 8th to plate the go-ahead run. John Farrell rested Shane Victorino all game & Will Middlebrooks at the start to give Jackie Bradley Jr. & Xander Bogaerts some playing time. Farrell also rested key bullpen members & let the kids Drake Britton & Rubby de la Rosa pitch the 6th through 8th. Playing experience in tight games by these 4 kids will help them should they get drafted for duty in the playoffs. Now the Yankees invade Fenway for 3 this weekend. The Yankees, O's & Indians are fighting the Rays for the final wild card spot.
