Red Sox Beat Yankees 8-4
It's always a great evening when the Red Sox beat up on the Yankees. A-Roid did nothing at the plate & looked like Charlie Brown in the field. At least this was one game that this cheater didn't influence. For the Red Sox this was just another game where the Yankees make a comeback, only to have the better team pull away in the end. Close Yankee fans, but no cigar. Saltie breaks up a 4-4 tie in the 7th with a grand slam to put the Sox ahead for good 8-4. Grand slams seem to be a "thing" in September as Sox hitters have launched 4 grannies this month. Lackey wasn't too pleased about coming out in the 7th, but he had grooved too many pitches. I can't stand Cano, but he was the toughest out in the Yankees lineup. Of course Cano is playing for his next contract which the Yankees management have already said will not be an A-Rod deal. Maybe he will end up in Philly or Seattle. Jon Lester, a pitcher on the up-side, will go against CC Sabathia, a guy who has maybe logged too many innings & is no longer elite. Another win by the Red Sox will leave the Yankees looking further up in the wild card race at Tampa, Cleveland & Baltimore who are ahead of them as time starts to run out in the season.
