Red Sox, A's Both Lose
It's down to watching one team, other than the Boston Red Sox, for New England fans - the Oakland A's. Oakland & Boston are fighting it out for the best record in the American League. The Red Sox never got their offense going last night against a young arm from the Rockies. John Lackey gave up 3 solo shots. The Red Sox young arms Britton & Workman came in from the bullpen & they were rusty & ineffective from no work. Sox lose 8-3 after making some noise late in the 9th with a 2-run homer by Saltie. In California the A's lost to the Angels 3-0. The Red Sox have 95 wins, the A's 94. If either team can win 3 out of their remaining 4, that may be enough to finish 1st. The Sox go to Baltimore for 3, an O's team they can't seem to figure out, after 1 more in Colorado. The A's go to Seattle for 3 after 1 more in Anaheim. It may go all the way to game 162 to find a best record winner.
