Rays Lose 5th Straight

One announcer, I think it was Eck, said that every major league team, except the Red Sox, has had extended losing streaks over the course of this season. The once hot Rays in July have now lost 5 in a row & they remain 5 1/2 back of the Red Sox entering tonight's action. The Rays lost 11-2 to the Angels last night on what has been a disastrous west coast swing so far. Baltimore & New York both won, so they inch a little closer to the Rays in the wild card standings. The Red Sox have lost 3 in a row, maybe 4, this year but that's it. The strength & depth of the Sox roster has really helped them overcome major dips in the standings. Tampa's offense has gone cold & they just can't score runs these days.
