Ellsbury Getting 2nd Opinion on Foot
Jacoby Ellsbury needs to play if he is to get the big contract next year. Ells did play after fouling a ball off his right foot in the Detroit series & he played well. But swelling is hampering his ability to get out there this weekend. Hopefully, it's not a break & the Sox can let him rest, thanks to a big lead in the division. It's a no brainer that the Red Sox lineup is better & more dangerous with Jacoby in it. Chances are it is not a break or he wouldn't have been able to play on it at all - like Dustin Pedroia a few years ago. If he misses the Tampa series, it's not the end of the world. We need Jake for the playoffs. JBJ can fill-in for awhile, especially with the bats catching fire in September.
