Derek Lowe in the Booth

It was surprising to see Derek Lowe in the broadcast booth with Don Orsillo last night. He was joined by Pedro Martinez for awhile & the 2 former pitchers from the 2004 championship team shared some fun stories. Lowe's personality was such that he liked to party at times more than pitch, but he had a long 17 year career in the majors & made a ton of iron. His 2004 post-season did catapult him to big, multi-year contracts as a free agent with the Dodgers & then the Braves before ending his career with stints in Cleveland, New York & Texas. You could tell that Lowe still was not pleased with Tito's decision to send him into the bullpen for the 2004 playoffs. At one point Lowe said his job during the playoffs was to bring gum to the field. Little bitter there Derek? Bring back Eck, soon, please.
