ALCS Match-Up?

For a 3-game series in early September the media is hyping this short series against the Tigers as a preview of the AL Championship Series to come in October. The Sox will miss Verlander & the Tigers will miss Peavy. Other than that, it's Lackey, Lester, Dempster versus Fister, Scherzer & Porcello. It should be a good series, especially since the Red Sox have a cushion of 5 1/2 games over the Tampa Bay Rays & they can play a little looser, not be so uptight about the standings. Detroit is in the same position with a comfortable lead in the AL Central over Terry Francona's Indians. With David Ortiz & Mike Napoli coming back to life offensively, it will be interesting to see how they fare as compared to Cabrera & Fielder. Nothing get settled over the next 3 days, but both teams want to play well against each other. Finally, Jose Iglesias makes his return to Fenway in a Tigers uniform.
