Yankees Lose Again With A-Rod
Remember the Curse of the Bambino. I think the Yankees have a curse of their own. It's called the Curse of A-Rod. Goldman Sachs was underwriting the building of the New Yankee Stadium back around 2008. A-Rod had an opt out clause in his contract. The money folks at Goldman Sachs told the Yankees that they could not let A-Rod walk if the Yankees wanted fans to pay for overpriced tickets, so they re-signed A-Rod to his current 10 year contract. That's what happens when non-baseball people interfere with baseball operations. Sounds familiar to Boston fans. And now the Yankees are stuck with an albatross. Since A-Rod's return the Yankees are 0-2. Do you think that their clubhouse chemistry is better? I doubt it. 99% of players don't want him there, including Derek Jeter who is too classy to say otherwise on a public stage. A-Rod will single-handedly bring down a proud franchise. The Yankees would be better off to pay him to stay home.
