Sox Win, Extend Lead

It took 11 innings, but the Boston Red Sox outlasted a crumbling Toronto Blue Jays team 4-2. All you needed to know about the Jays lack of effort was shown in the play where Shane Victorino threw out Jose Reyes at home. Reyes did not even slide to try & avoid a tag. Maybe he didn't want to get his uniform dirty or risk injury to himself for the betterment of his team. Sox win 4-2 on a 2 RBI single by Victorino in the 11th. Ryan Dempster had a very nice outing over the 1st 7 innings, giving up just the 1 run. It's always about starting pitching with the Sox & perhaps Dempster's outing signals a good turn or two coming for all of the starters. In addition to the Sox win, another loss by the Tampa Bay Rays leaves them 4 games behind the Sox in the standings & just a game or two in front of Baltimore. I guess the magic of July is over for the Rays.
