Sox Shutout in Houston 2-0
Once again John Lackey deserved a better fate. A kid named Ober-something for Houston pitched one heck of a game against the Red Sox, going 7 shutout innings & duplicating his shutout performance against the O's. There were few scoring opportunities for the Sox & each one was met with untimely strikeouts by Mike Napoli & Brandon Snyder late in the game. If Napoli is going to stay in the lineup, he has to be moved out of the #5 hole. His strikeouts are piling up while his home runs are dwindling. The Sox are in need of right-handed power, so move up Gomes &/or bring up Middlebrooks & Bogaerts & send Snyder & Holt back down. The suicide squeeze play by the Astros is such a good play on offense & such a deflating play on defense. Astros scored their 2nd insurance run on the squeeze. It will be fun to watch Steven Wright & his knuckleball tonight. The Sox offense should bounce back tonight.
