Sox Lose Finale 3-2
You can see why the Baltimore Orioles are a playoff contender. They have a good offense led by Machado, Jones & Davis. They have 2 good starters in Norris & Tillman. They are 1 or 2 starters short of being a great team in the heavyweight AL East. It would have been a disastrous series for the O's to get swept in Boston & they avoided disaster by beating the Red Sox 3-2 last night. If the Sox take 2 out of 3, like they have in each of the last 3 series, we can live into October will those results. Plus the Rays lost earlier in the day to preserve their 2 1/2 game lead. The Sox welcome the White Sox to Fenway for a weekend series. Again, 2 out of 3 would be nice, especially since lefty Chris Sale pitched the other night & will miss this series. Jake Peavy gets to pitch against his old teammates tonight. We may also see Ryan Dempster return to the mound after his A-Rod incident.
