Sox Lose 3-2, Tied With Rays for First Place

OK, this was my choice. I decided if the game went into extra innings that I was calling it quits around 1 AM & getting some sleep. I also figured that if the Giants won the game in the bottom of the 9th, then I would be mad & wouldn't get to sleep. So I turned off the TV with the bases loaded & 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th. Glad I did now as I would have been mad over a 3-2 loss & certainly a winnable game as the Red Sox squandered many scoring opportunities. If you have ever traveled coast to coast, you do know that the 2nd day is when jet lag hits you. I think that may have been part of the problem. Peavy pitched OK. Pedroia & the infield made several good plays behind him, including a tough high hopper hit to the X man. Bogaerts left 5 men on base in his 1st 2 major league at bats. Welcome to the big time! Especially in the first inning, the Sox had a chance to blow the game wide open, but only scored one run. Nice to see David Ross catching again after coming back from his concussion. The loss puts the Sox in a tie with the Rays who beat the Orioles. And the Yankees moved closer with 2 wins over the Blue Jays. Things are tightening up.
