Sox Increase Lead, Bogaerts Watch

With Brandon Snyder slumping at the plate the watch is on for Xander Bogaerts to join the big team. For my 2 cents I would bring up Middlebrooks to replace Brock Holt as well. Alternate Bogaerts & Middlebrooks at 3B & use Bogaerts as your safety net utility guy at SS should Drew go down. You could move Drew to 2B if Pedroia goes down. The change should happen soon. With another come-from-behind win last night the Red Sox lengthen their lead over the Tampa Bay Rays to 2 1/2 games. That's a great cushion to have going into a tough series in Kansas City for 4 games this weekend. Sox can go 2-2 & still be in 1st place at the end of the week. Lackey, Doubront & Peavy seem to have it going on right now, a good groove if you will. Lester & Dempster need to pick it up. Dempster won't pitch in KC, so I'm hoping for 3 out of 4 & another series win.

I am fine with bringing up Bogearts. He brings a little mre punch to a the line-up, and he can hit lefties. The sox still struggle mightily with lefties. Snyder pinch hit last night in the 7th and struck out with men on 1st and 2nd. If you take away the lucky 290 foot homer off the Pesky Pole he hit Vs Price, he hasn't done anything in a while.

And yet another leftie, Brice Chen shuts down the Sox.
