Sox Drop Opener to D-Backs 7-6

No, it's not OK. Fans may say that you can't expect the Red Sox to earn a comeback win every game. True. But it's not OK for Jon Lester to go backwards at this time of year. After giving up 2 runs in the 1st his teammates tie the game & then spot him a 4-2 lead. But Lester couldn't hold it - something a good pitcher would do. It's also not OK for Brock Holt to flub an easy bunt to advance a runner late in the game. That miscue especially hurt since Ellsbury singled after Holt & a runner at 2nd might have scored to tie the game. Old friend Cody Ross certainly took out his frustrations about not being offered a fair contract by the Boston brass this past off-season with 4 hits, including the game-winner homer. Good for Cody. I actually met him & his wife & they are very down to earth people. So questions will continue over Jon Lester. You think Lester would have figured it out by this point in the season. And if Farrell can't straighten him out, who can? Jake Peavey makes his Red Sox debut tonight. I hope it's a good one as we could use a win.
