Royals 5, Red Sox 1

Blame it on getting into KC at 3:30 AM. Blame it facing another lefty. Sox batters went down far too easy for Bruce Chen last night in a 5-1 loss. Jon Lester struggled to get out of the 1st inning, giving up 3 runs. The inning did include a rare error in left by Jonny Gomes, but Lester couldn't find the strike zone & walks came back to bit him. You can't spot a team 3 runs in the 1st & expect to comeback every single night. Thank goodness the Rays lost as well. We still have a 2 1/2 game lead going into tonight's game. I'm anxious to see if Jake Peavy can duplicate his 1st mound effort & bring the Sox back to the win column.
