Re-Sign Saltie & Ells?

To coin a phrase from Eck, it would cost the Red Sox a few "beans" or some "iron" to re-sign upcoming free agents Jacoby Ellsbury & Jarrod Saltalamacchia. If Ben Cherington sticks to his plan, the most either would get is a 3-year deal. Complicating matters is the fact that both are having excellent years. You could probably get Saltie for $7-$8 million a year. Ells, via Boras, would be looking for a BJ Upton deal of 5 years & $85 million. (How's that working out for the Braves with Upton batting .191?) Maybe Ben could offer Ells 3 years at $15 mil per. The other consideration is the readiness of possible replacements. Is Jackie Bradley, Jr. or Cristian Vazquez ready to make the jump next year? If so, the Sox can continue their youth movement with less payroll. Interesting questions...
