Guest Article - "Morgan Magic"
I remember driving to Fenway in July of 1988 with my family all ready to enjoy the game. We were on time to see the first pitch until my car stopped working. We were on the Tobin Bridge. The state police officer called for a tow truck. We all piled into the wrecker and were dropped off at Haymarket Square. From there we got a cab to take us to Fenway Park. Our cab driver did not know where Fenway Park was nor did he know how to speak English. He started riding around in circles. I could see the park from where we were so I had the cab driver stop the cab and we got out to walk over to the park. It was a night of Morgan Magic as the Sox won. Last night I was at Fenway Park as the Red Sox celebrated 25 years since Morgan Magic. Among those players that showed up for the ceremony were: Roger Clemens, Mike Smithsen, Dewey Evans, Oil Can Boyd, Spike Owens & Lee Smith. It was a great night for the fans that shared the excitement of Morgan Magic 25 years ago. Six, Two and Even! (Author Mike G.)
