Don't Push the Panic Button!

I can already imagine the Red Sox reports today. "Team is done. They stink. I knew they were fakes." Just stop & think about how every single season ends. It's a marathon of 162 games. The first 5 months are just like horses positioning themselves during a horse race. You don't want to fall too far behind the pack. September is the stretch run. It doesn't matter what you have done during the first 5 months when you get to September. Remember 2011 & the Red Sox 99.99% chance of making the playoffs! That didn't work out too well. The Red Sox will be in position to make the playoffs when the clock turns 9/1/2013. After that, it's whatever teams can get hot for the final 30 games that will actually make the playoffs. Right now you can say Houston, the Cubs, probably Toronto, the Phillies, Seattle, the Marlins & a few others are out. Every other team still has a chance to get hot. So don't listen to the naysayers. The Red Sox are as likely to make the playoffs as any other team in contention. Remember, these are the same reporters that picked the Sox to finish 4th or 5th. Wait for September, then see what happens.
