AL East in August

All of the AL East contenders have had a pedestrian month of August. Red Sox are 14-12 with 2 left this month against the White Sox. Next are the stinkin' cheatin' Yankees & A-Roid at 14-12 with 2 left against Baltimore. Third are the Baltimore Orioles at 12-12 with 2 games left against the Yankees. Surprisingly, last in August are the Tampa Bay Rays at 11-13 with 2 left against the Oakland A's. With all 4 teams hovering right around .500 it really is anyone's race to the playoffs in September. Right now it looks as if the Red Sox, Rays & Oakland are the 3 teams in, with Boston or Tampa getting the AL East crown &/or the 1st wild card. But September can be a fickle month as we know, especially with so many head-to-head AL East games remaining. Still, you have to like the Red Sox position as they make the final run for the wire. Fingers crossed!
