Sox Run Into A Loss 5-2
Not their best effort. Daniel Nava stumbles around 3rd, but instead of going back, continues home & is thrown out. Mike Carp tries to score on a wild pitch & looks like he has a piano on his back & gets thrown out at home. Daniel Nava tries to go to 2nd on a foul out by Dustin Pedroia & he gets thrown out again with Big Papi coming up. Too many outs on the bases. And then what's up with the Red Sox batters making a ton of outs early in the count! Where was that plate discipline, working counts & driving the pitch count up? Jacoby Ellsbury made 4 outs on 5 pitches. David Ortiz made his last 2 outs on 2 pitches. Did everyone have dinner reservations to get to? Hiroki Kuroda was good, but the Sox made him look way too good. John Lackey deserved a better fate. We did get to see Drake Britton in the 9th who looked like he throws the ball pretty well. All in all, a below-average effort by the Sox. Even Dustin Pedroia made an error a 2nd, only his 2nd in 98 games. Let's hope the red & blue come back with a better effort tonight.
