Sox Find Offense & Win 7-2

Stephen Drew, a guy who hasn't contributed much offensively, hits 2 big homers & drives in 5 runs to help the Sox get back into the win column in Baltimore. Shane Victorino contributed an HR as well to go along with good play in RF. Ryan Dempster, Craig Breslow, Tazawa & Uehara limit the O's bats to just 2 runs. Sox win 7-2 to keep pace with the Rays who beat the Yankees 1-0. Umpires Tim Timmons (balls & strikes) & Laz Diaz (fair or foul) showed why they are horrible at their job. Big Papi got ejected on a very poor call of a 3-0 strike, then striking out. Funniest scene was Dustin Pedroia trying to restrain Ortiz from further punishment. At least in a win you can laugh about it. Middlebrooks &/or Bogaerts may not be far away from appearing on the left side of the infield if Iglesias' offensive woes continue. The Sox are reportedly in the race to land Jake Peavey. If it's just money & not much in the way of prospects, I'd do it. But, with so many teams looking for pitching, the asking price for Peavey may be too much. Trade deadline is looming on Wednesday.
