Quite A Win!
I am on a family vacation & this was family Red Sox day. When the Sox fell behind 5-1 my grandson said "don't the Red Sox know this is family Red Sox day? They have to win." And win they did with a great comeback 8-7 victory in 10 innings. Dempster didn't have it today & he got knocked out early. In came knuckleballer Steven Wright for 5+ innings & he did have it going on. Wright did a great job slowing down the Mariners offense to allow the Sox offense to catch up. Daniel Nava's single in 10th drove home JBJ with the winning run. Koji did his thing, a 1-2-3 bottom of the 10th & the Sox escaped with a great come-from-behind win. The win keeps the Sox 3 1/2 ahead of the surging Rays. Now it's onto a tough Oakland series for the final 3 games before the all-star break. But let's savor today as another great 1-run win.
