Pedroia A Red Sox for Life
Dustin Pedroia will retire in a Red Sox uniform. Pedey finalized a 7-year, $100 million deal that begins in 2015 & it will take him through 2021 when he will be 38 years old. I say forget the money because every major leaguer is paid way too much. I like the fact that Pedroia, the Jeter-like guy for the Sox, will be around to help young guys remember that every game is a battle. His work ethic may rub off on guys like Middlebrooks, Iglesias, Bogaerts, JBJ & others who will come into their prime over the next few years. Dustin plays the game like an old timer who gives it his all everyday. No trotting down first base line on ground outs. No letting balls by you without a dive. And a tough out, especially when the game is on the line. Pedroia thanked the Red Sox for taking a chance on his 5'8" frame & drafting him when other teams passed him by. When David Ortiz retires the Red Sox will be Pedroia's team. I'm OK with that.
