Another Walk-Off HR for Jonny Gomes

I wasn't happy in the 8th that with runners on 1st & 2nd & no outs that John Farrell didn't have Daniel Nava bunt the runners over. Nava strikes out on 3 pitches & the Sox end up stranding the go-ahead run at 2nd. But no worries. Lester goes the 1st 7 & gives up just one run. Tazawa & Uehara pitch a clean 8th & 9th. Jonny Gomes pinch hits for Brandon Snyder to start the 9th. Gomes hits a 2 strike slider just over the monster in left to win the game 2-1 for the Red Sox. As Eck said after the game, you just felt like the Sox would do something dramatic to win this game. A win by the Sox & O's puts the Rays & Yankees at 6 behind & the Jays 10 behind in the standings. It's becoming a 2 horse race in the AL East between Baltimore & Boston as teams head towards the all-star break. One more win at home would be a nice way to finish off this home stand.
