Yankees 4, Red Sox 1

I can already here my podcast buddy Steve saying the Red Sox can't beat a lefty. He was right - again - last night as CC bested Lester 4-1 in the opener of a 3 game series in the Bronx. Not much offense on either side, but the Yankees made better use of their limited opportunities than did the Red Sox. I think that these games are where it shows how much the Red Sox miss Middlebrooks & Victorino as right-handed bats in the order. Nava is not as effective from the right side. Same for Saltie. David Ross isn't going to run into a big fly more than once or twice a month. And Iglesias is no threat. That leaves Petey to do it all which isn't going to happen all of the time. Tonight's another opportunity to get back into this series. I'd like to see Felix Doubront, a/k/a Dice-K Jr., go more than 5 innings before he reaches 100 pitches.
