Tigers Slug Sox 9-2

Allen Webster wishes he had the 1st inning back. A little nervousness lead to 2 cheap ground ball singles, a walk & a grand slam to Victor Martinez. This after the Sox had taken a 2-0 lead on a David Ortiz homer. Sox lose 9-2. Scherzer was very effective & had Sox batters off balance the rest of the night. Detroit is good & they are playoff team. Felix Doubront will need to come up big in today's finale to salvage a split. He will need a performance like his last 8 inning gem. It would be nice to see Doubront get on a roll with Lackey & Dempster while Lester tries to figure things out & Buchholz mends on the DL. Don't give up on Webster. He has great stuff & is just having a young pitcher's learning pains at the big league level. He will figure it out.
