How Many Outs Are There, Alexi?
I couldn't let this mental error pass without a comment. The one game that the Red Sox won this weekend (Saturday) ended with a blunder on the bases by Alexi Casilla. Baltimore had just pulled within 1 run of the Sox on a 2-run homer by Chris Davis. Casilla was the tying run on first with one out in the 9th. On a fly ball to right easily catchable by Shane Victorino Casillo takes off for 2nd & keeps going. Victorino easily throws to 1st for a double play that ends the game. How stupid! You have to know that the first base coach told Casilla how many outs there were before the play. Obviously, he didn't listen & he thought that there were 2 outs. Showalter should have fined Casilla & the 1st base coach for the mental mistake that ended the game.
