Sox Lose Again 3-1
The Windy City turned into the very rainy city at the end of last night's game, but umpires were hell bent on finishing this game in monsoon conditions. That's a little bit of whining on my part since conditions were the same for both teams. As soon as David Ortiz comes up in the 8th with the tying & go-ahead runs on base & he hits a first pitch grounder into a double play, it was game over. Even the big guy who said " I've been doing this for a long time, baby" didn't show any patience in a critical at-bat late in the game. The Red Sox had just scored a run on an error to make it 2-1 & the White Sox were shaky in the field. I'm saying to myself just hit a fly ball & Ells scores from 3rd & ties the game. But a low, inside pitch induces Big Papi to hit into a big DP. Game over after that. A win by Buck tonight gives the Sox a 6-3 road record (my prediction!) which is a very credible bounce back from a previous slump at Fenway.

If I managed a team playing the Red Sox, I would do everything in my powere to see that they faced nothing but Lefties until they prove they can hit against them. That includes bringing guys up if necessary.
