Red Sox Remain Snake-Bitten
An excuse-me half swing single. And a towering pop-up that gets lost among the catwalk structure at the Trop. That's how the Tampa Bay Rays erased a 3-run homer in the first inning by David Ortiz to win game 1 5-3. John Lackey gave up all 5 runs in the 4th. It was curtains for both offenses thereafter as the Sox struggle on offense continues & the Rays couldn't score on the Sox bullpen. It doesn't get any easier for the Sox offense tonight as David Price goes for the Rays. Jon Lester will need to throw another shutout to get his team back on track. Lester & Buck have the best chance to salvage this series if they can get some run support. Things have to change soon, right? I don't want to see goof-ball Fernando Rodney with his sideways hat & arrow gesture after he closes a game again this week.

The Trop is, was, and always will be a crap venue for Major League Baseball! That aside, the Sox can't hit on any consistant basis.
