ZiPS Projections for AL East

ESPN Boston had an interesting article on the projected results for the 2013 season in the AL East. They reference a ZiPS Projection System. I guess this is a Monte Carlo simulation run about a million times through various scenarios. "Zippie" believes that Toronto will end up on top. Individually, they project Toronto 94 wins, Tampa Bay 88 wins, Boston 84 wins, New York 83 wins & Baltimore 82 wins. As Joe Torre said in Francona's book, stats are great, but the game is played by players with a heartbeat, not by a machine. So take Zippie's projections with a grain of salt. An injury here & a great year there could change everything. Who could have predicted Mike Trout last year or the San Francisco Giants winning a 2nd World Series in 3 years? The human factor is the X factor in all predictions. That why games are played.
