Overbay Released

Lyle Overbay just didn't show enough to stick with the Red Sox 25-man roster & he was released. He is free to sign with other teams now, with the Yankees among those interested. Mike Carp & Daniel Nava seem to be more effective options, particularly since both are younger. Overbay was worth a shot as he use to torment Boston pitchers when he was a Blue Jay. It seems, though, that time & age may have caught up with Overbay.
