Opening Day

There's nothing like Opening Day. Every team is 0-0 & every team has dreams of going to the World Series. I was lucky enough to be in Kansas City in 2007 when Hideki Okajima's first pitch was a home run to John Buck. The Royals won & local papers the next day said the Royals were going to the World Series. I was in Detroit last year to see the Sox get swept by the Tigers. The Tigers did end up in the World Series. As a fan, you turn the page of winter - even though you sometimes need winter gear to stay warm at the park in April. Most opening start times are 1:00 PM, so you have fans tail-gating & bars opening early, hours before the first pitch. You have media coverage starting 2 & 3 hours before the game as well. After 2007 & 2012 I must be a jinx, so I'm staying home this year. Maybe the Sox will fare better. Not to mention that I just can't stand to step foot into Yankee Stadium. Won't do it.
