LaRoche Re-Signs With Nationals
Phew! Adam LaRoche is re-signing with the Nationals for 2-years with a mutual option for a third. That was a close call as the Sox were looking at LaRoche as insurance if the Napoli deal didn't get done. Like R.A. Dickey, I think LaRoche had a career year that won't be duplicated again. I was not in favor of the Sox giving him the standard 3-years, $39 million. Speaking of Napoli, he needs to finalize his deal with the Sox as no other team is going to offer him the same money now that he has a bad hip. Napoli's stock seems to be diminishing every day. I wonder what would happen if the Sox pulled their offer. I hope that Bobby Abreu at 100 years old is not Plan B! Pressure is on Napoli to sign now.
