Dan Haren Waived By Angels

Here's another starting pitcher on the market. Dan Haren was owed $15.5 million which the Angels declined. A day after Ben Cherington said he would like to add a 5th starter from outside the organization along comes Haren. Lots of experience. Often injured. Maybe a 1-year deal with a club option for a 2nd at a modest price would do it. Don't forget Braden from the A's is available as another starter as well. This should be an interesting week. As a reminder, we also have the 2 starters from the Dodgers trade who may crack the rotation by mid-year. There are lots of possibilities. Ben just needs to sort them all out & add the best guy money-wise & for the shortest length of contract. Don't forget thay Kuroda & Jackson are coming off 1-year deals with the Yankees & Nationals too.
