Sox Lose, Not For Sale
Felix Doubront pitched well, but you can't win when the offense scores zero runs. Sox lost to the Yankees 2-0. However, the bigger news was off the field (again) as Sox ownership squashed a Fox Business Report story that the team was up for sale. Both John Henry & newly resigned Larry Luchhino said the story had no merit. The current ownership group bought the Sox for $750,000,000. With the Dodgers recent sale price of over $2,000,000,000 & austerity moves to get out from under big multi-year deals the rumor mill was running rampant about a pending sale. Henry's other assets in Liverpool & NASCAR have been in the forefront this past year as interest seemed to be diverted from the Red Sox to those enterprises. As I said before, this off-season should be the best part of 2012.
