Sox 5, Rays 2

It was like looking in the mirror. Poor defense. No hitting. Dugout conflicts. And I'm not talking about our Boston Red Sox. The Tampa Bay Rays imploded further after a 1-5 road trip by dropping the first game to the Sox 5-2 at the Trop in from of 11,000 fans. As Jerry Remy said, they are playing in front of family & friends. Jacoby Ellsbury had a nice night at the plate with a 2-run homer to break up a no-hitter, then a big 2-run single later in the game. I thought Ells was piling on when he tried to steal 3rd in the 9th with 2 outs & Cody Ross at the plate. I viewed that steal attempt as him going for an individual stat that was unnecessary. Overall, nice to see that the Red Sox are not the only team in disarray. They just started earlier than the Rays this year.
