Sox Lose 7-1

Did you watch the game? I know that Felger will be all over Josh Beckett today. However, it was the offense that outhit the O's 11-7 & they could only push across 1 run. Not one key hit will runners in scoring position. And how about Melancon coughing up a 3-run homer on his 1st pitch! I would call out the offense & Melancon before Beckett when assigning the blame pie for last night's 7-1 loss in Camden Yards. I would also blame Bobby V for using Melancon 1st out of the pen when all arms were rested after an off-day. How about Andrew Bailey, Clayton Mortenson or Junichi Tazawa? It was a 4-1 game at that point & still winnable. Yes, Beckett did give up 4 runs including 2 solo shots on high fastballs & a couple of cheap infield hits. But I would put him 3rd or 4th on the list of reasons why the Sox lost this game. Time for everyone to look in the mirror & start playing better.
