Another Game Off the Schedule

Time is running out. A 3rd loss in a row, 2nd in 2 nights to the Twins in extra innings 6-5. Below .500 record at the 2/3rd mark of the season. And the blame game is in full season. In my humble opinion the main problem is the players - period. Too many are below their historical average performance level this year. Take your pick - Josh Beckett, Jon Lester, Dustin Pedroia, Adrian Gonzalez. If you are a professional player, even for the lowly Houston Astros or KC Royals, you are expected to be ready to play your best every day. There will be up & down days, but the expectation is that you ready yourself to be at your best on a daily basis. As a competitor, every player should want to win. If results are not what you expect, if results are less than average, then it's up to the player to seek help, modify workouts, add more repetitions, etc. to get better results. Hard work gets results. Talking does not. And the onous is on the player to modify, change & adapt their routine to get better results. Personal responsibility. Where is it?
