Nothing Will Change on Tuesday

Don't we already know the ending of this year's book on the trade deadline. Nothing is going to change. Average performances by Josh Beckett & Jon Lester in their last outings were enough to keep management convinced that this pitching staff can take the Red Sox into the playoffs. Fools! Off the market are Zack Greinke & Francisco Liriano this week. Sooner or later, Josh Johnson & Ryan Dempster will be gone too. And we will be sitting with our #1 & #2 guys who are way under .500 when they start a game for the Red Sox this year. Whatever the Red Sox management is seeing, I'm not. Best game of the weekend was not turned in by Jon Lester. It was Felix Doubront & he only had 2 runs to work with. The glass - for me - is half empty as we turn the page into August & September.
