Back to Last

An embarassing loss 15-7 in the finale today allows the Blue Jays to sweep the Red Sox at home. Jon Lester - just horrible, giving up 9 runs in 2 innings. Good for Bobby V for leaving Lester out there to clean up his own mess. Later, Mark Melancon had a horrible 8th inning allowing 4 more runs. If there is any doubt about whether this roster, specifically this pitching staff, can take this team into the playoffs, that question was answered loudly this weekend with an emphatic "no." Can't blame the offense today. The Red Sox need some new blood. Time for Beckett to go, time for Lester to be demoted or get a phantom injury or just go & time for Lackey to get healthy so he can be traded too. We are back at .500 once again, back in last place again & going into Texas & New York.
