Sox Offense Keys 7-5 Win
3 home run balls helped Clay Buchholz through a so-so outing as the Red Sox beat the Marlins 7-5 at home last night. Big Papi, Kelly Shoppach & newly returned Cody Ross all went deep. Buck pitched the 1st 6, giving up 5 runs, but benefitted from great bullpen work over the final 3 innings with Alfredo Aceves striking out Hanley Ramirez to end the game. Story of the night for me was the play of Ryan Kalish in CF. He made a diving catch to start the game, missed a ball that hit his glove, but then made another nice catch in the triangle. After the game he owned up to his error, all the while sporting a big grin to be back in the bigs & playing the outfield again in Fenway Park. Kalish's energy & enthusiasm can help change Buster Olney's "toxic" comment about the Sox clubhouse.
