Middlebrooks Stays Hot, Youk Sits

Remember when Drew Bledsoe got hit & Tom Brady came in? Different sport, but it's kind of similar with Kevin Youkilis & Will Middlebrooks. Middlebrooks is producing so well that it is basically impossible for Bobby V to take his bat out of the lineup. Middlebrooks had another homer last night to help the Sox to an 8-4 victory over the visiting Braves. And, even though it's the right decision for the betterment of the team, Youk deserves to be playing every day as he has earned that right over the past 10 years. Youk's body takes a pounding every year & this year is no different. He will be a contributing player again - just not for the Red Sox. It's a hard way for a home grown guy to leave the only team you have ever known. But the time has come for a trade to be made for Youk - sooner rather than later.
