Doubront, Papi Lead 10-2 Win Over Marlins

Since Daniel Bard was sent to AAA you have to admit that the starting pitching has been good enough to win every game. After a tight 2-1 win on Tuesday the Sox offense, & the top of the order, contributed mightily towards a 10-2 rout of the Miami Marlins to win the series 2-1 in Miami. The Marlins will be in Boston next week for a return match. Felix Doubront was in command over the first 7 innings. David Ortiz hit his 15th homer & the top 4 batters in the Sox lineup account for 9 or 10 hits. Odd bullpen moves at the end of the game were made by Bobby V & Ozzie. Vicente Padilla came in in the 8th to pitch to 1 batter with an 8-run lead & was then abruptly taken out. Similarly, Ozzie used his closer, Heath Bell, in the 9th with an 8-run deficit. Just weird use of the bullpen...
