Buick, Shoppach Stop Slide With 2-1 Win

Clay Buchholz is back. 7 innings of 1-run ball with 2 big hits by Kelly Shoppach was all the Red Sox needed to defeat Mark Buehrle & the Marlins 2-1. It was the 1st win in 5 tries & it gives the Sox a chance to win this interleague series behind Felix Doubront tonight. Buck struckout a season high 9 batters with a devastating changeup to compliment his fastball & breaking balls. It wasn't pretty as the Sox offense was kept off balance by Buehrle & they eked out only 2 runs with most of the damage done by the bottom of the order. Sox offense was bailed out by the pitching of Buck, but we'll take a win these days anyway we can get one.
