Sox Win, Decision on Cook Today
The Boston Red Sox started their 6 game homestand last night with a win over the Oakland A's 11-6. The Sox finish April at 11-11. The offense employed 4 long balls, 2 by David Ortiz who finishes an April to remember. Big Papi is on pace for 36 jacks & 120 RBI. Buchholz pitched well through the first 6, but ran into trouble in the 7th. But the offense scored enough runs & a nifty double play by Petey preserved the win. All eyes are on Aaron Cook today as the Sox need to add him to the big league roster or release him. Cook is pitching well in Pawtucket, but so are all the starters in the Red Sox rotation. It's a nice problem to have that will be compounded further when Dice-K comes off his rehab outings at the end of May. The old saying is that you can never have too much pitching. May shapes up to be quite a test of that saying.
