Salty Has Big Night

Sox win 7-5 in Philly. Yes, Gonzo made a nice catch in right & yes Ryan Sweeney made a nice catch in center. But thanks to their newly stitched-up catcher who had 3 hits, including a home run, just a night after receiving 12 stitches it was Salty that made the difference. He had a great night at the plate in support of an OK performance by Jon Lester. Lester gave up 5 runs in 6 innings. Aviles, Middlebrooks & Big Papi also went yard for a total of 4 more dingers on the night in small Citizens Bank Park. Beckett faces Cliff Lee in the finale of the series this afternoon. A win would certainly give the Sox momentum going into Baltimore to face the 1st place O's.
