Pedroia's Thumb An Issue

I love how all the sports outlets have Petey missing a month of games already. How does anyone know at this point? If you listen carefully to these reports, they say he MAY miss or COULD miss or MIGHT miss a month. But they lead with Pedroia out for a month. That's good ol' Marketing 101. Make a big headline, then retract as the story unfolds. In fact no one knows definitely how long Pedroia will be out. Nick Punto can fill in temporarily on defense, but his bat is not producing for a long term fix. There are options in Pawtucket in Iglesias & Ciriaco. Middlebrooks played 2B years ago. I wouldn't expect a move until this weekend & the Sox are very sure what he has & how long the proper fix will take to get Petey back on the field. Don't believe everything you hear - that's an understatement!
