Lots of Slow Starts in 2012

Here's what I found in the paper this morning as I read the standings. Boston Red Sox 22-22. New York Yankees 23-21. Detroit Tigers 20-23. Chicago White Sox 22-22. LA Angels 20-25. Philadelphia Phillies 22-23. San Francisco Giants 23-21. There's 7 big money, perennial playoff teams floundering just above or just below .500 for the first 2 months of the 2012 season. If the season ended today, the AL playoff teams would be the O's, Indians & Rangers with wild cards to the Rays & Blue Jays. The NL teams going to the playoffs would be the Nats, Cardinals & Dodgers with wild cards to the Braves & Reds. But the season doesn't end today. There are still 4 months & 118 games to go for the Red Sox. The Sox need to go 68-50 over the rest of the season to get to 90 wins. That equates to 5 games over .500 each month for the rest of the season. I think that's do-able, especially with key guys coming back from injuries next month.
