Sox Streak Ends With 4-1 Loss

It was bound to happen. The Red Sox winning streak ended at 6 straight with a 4-1 loss today. Gavin Floyd was in command of his pitches all day, giving up a mere 1-run. Josh Beckett gave up 3 first innings runs & that was the difference in the game. On another night, when the Sox score 10, Beckett would have won handily. But that's baseball for you. The Sox will certainly take a 6-1 road trip anytime. The brightest spot by far is the improvement in starting & relief pitching. If Sox pitchers hold opponents to 5 runs or less, more often than naught they will win. The Sox come home now to open a series with Oakland A's. This is a road trip they can build on into month #2 of the season.
